What does Freedom Mean to You?

A very big awareness came when I realized how, at a very early age, I gave away my power.

I chose to be someone else for someone else – namely for my mom. She wanted me to be who she wanted to be but couldn’t. She guided me to her desires all in the name of improving my life. And I know she did it from the heart, with the purest of intentions. I was heavily influenced and chose to play that role for my mom, to be the peacemaker of the family. To devote my life to making others happy. And that job meant that I would be what I thought others wanted me to be. Making others happy, I believed, would make me happy too. I thought that was the most important thing to do. This chosen path however led me to losing connection with who I truly was.

Sometimes it might feel easier to be directed by others. You don’t have to make your own choices just follow. You don’t have to be responsible for the choices you do make because they aren’t yours and then you always have someone else to blame. Being Responsible for oneself takes courage. It actually can be easier to be responsible for others.

The life I had chosen, which I thought was making me happy, began to make me very sick. As the misalignment within me grew stronger and crept into my consciousness more and more, the resentment and anger were more prevalent. The depression, sadness and lack of motivation to live was growing deeper. Understandably, I wasn’t living. I was a puppet, unconsciously controlled by others.

It was when I started to ask “is there more to life than this?”, that I was shown how I had made the choices I had and was down this particular path. Having that awareness and switching paths gave me freedom.

Freedom to me now is no longer living in a ‘free’ country. It’s living my purpose and passion, not worrying about what others think or what I need to do in order to be loved by others.  Freedom is loving myself and others unconditionally. Freedom is being responsible for me in every way, physically, emotionally and mentally. Freedom is making choices for me and having the experiences of those choices in whatever way they unfold. Freedom is being aligned with my spirit and soul.

We live in a “free” country. But are you really free? Whose thoughts, beliefs and words are you living by?

Through the Soul Therapy® work, you will discover your truths, and awareness’s and we will unlock doors for you that lead you to your freedom path.

Be the Change.
