Stop ‘should-ing’yourself

How conscious are you of the words you use? Do you think about the words you choose to use? Often we don’t. They just seem to roll out of your mouth.

Words are so powerful.  What you say, each word you speak, shapes your thoughts, creates your reality, and influences others.

“Don’t speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke.  Your body doesn’t know the difference.  Words are energy and cast spells, that’s why it’s called spelling.  Change the way you speak about yourself and you can change your life.  What you’re not changing, you’re also choosing.”  — Bruce Lee

Words will tell you a lot about a person as they are the foundational building blocks to matter and creating one’s reality.

Have you ever been with a friend or colleague who is always negative, always complaining and you really don’t like their energy?  What are they saying?  What words or phrases do they repeatedly use?

Speech is a big form of communication.  And as helpful as words can be to allow us to express ourselves, they can also be very manipulative.

For example, let’s quickly look at the word ‘deserve’.  It is a big word with lots of energy behind it.  It can hold us back from really standing fully in our power because we have been made to feel that we aren’t good enough so we somehow have to gain some level of worthiness before we can have or create that which we want.  It does that because it stirs a feeling in you. It evokes an emotion.

So many words have been given extra power in our society and used to keep us in a loop of believing that we can’t possibly reach our full potential.  They are fear words.  Words that have been developed and labelled to keep us small.  And which evoke strong emotions. So much so that they are highly influencial and manipulative.

What if they weren’t in our vocabulary anymore?  What if we didn’t use them or we changed our perspective on their ‘descriptive” current meaning?

This series explores words that, if you chose to eliminate, or looked at them differently, will change your world.
